Mrs. Ada Mae Rightmer's Obituary
Mrs. Ada Mae Rightmer came into this world on December 13, 1922, in Redrock, Texas. She was a blessing to her parents Oscar and Ada Lou Nite. Sadly, Mrs. Ada Mae Rightmer was called to heaven on December 4, 2015 in Baytown, Texas.
Ada Mae’s early years spent living on a train with the train tracks as her and her sisters’ playground. Her father worked on the bridge gang and her mother was the cook for the railroad men. Later they moved to Smithville where she spend her teen and early adult years. After her marriage to Burl Max Rightmer they spend a year living in San Francisco California, then resided in Galena Park Texas until Burl’s death on April 7, 1983. She lived in La Porte for a few years but the majority of her remaining years were spent in Dayton Texas.
Ada Mae was a member of First Baptist Church in the Woodland Acres area of Houston. She loved to cook for family and was happiest when she was surrounded by the family she loved. Ada Mae was talkative, friendly and generous to anyone she met. She very much loved country music.
Ada Mae leaves behind, two children, Connie Oden and her husband Barney, her son David Rightmer and his wife Sherry; four granddaughters: Donna Eckerman, Sharon Annette Madden, Kristin Girod and Kari Leighton; 16 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, with the funeral service to start at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at San Jacinto Funeral Home. Interment to immediately follow in San Jacinto Memorial Park.
