Aaron James DeSelle's Obituary
Aaron James DeSelle, aged 87, of Houston, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 20, 2024. Born to parents Tennis and Celestine DeSelle, Aaron’s life was a symphony of moments that resonated with love, laughter, and purpose.
As a young man, Aaron embarked on a journey of love when he married Frankie Belle Gunter on June 27, 1955, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Their union was a testament to devotion, and together they wove a tapestry of shared dreams and enduring companionship.
Aaron was more than a salesman; he was a maestro of life’s simple pleasures. His love for racing cars ignited a fire within him, and the thrill of the track echoed in his heart. But it was the harmonica that truly captured his soul. With each melancholic note, he painted emotions that words could not express. And oh, how he loved to play pranks—his mischievous spirit dancing through the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
Yet, it was Aaron’s unwavering commitment to duty and country that defined him. From 1955 to 1958, he served in the United States Army, standing tall with honor and resilience. His legacy as a patriot lives on, etched into the fabric of our nation’s history.
Family was Aaron’s heartbeat. His daughter, Sharon Ann DeSelle, and son, Richard Anthony DeSelle, carry forward his spirit. Grandchildren—Sarah Rios, James, Wallace, Beau, Caso, Shantell, Jackson, Tiffany DeSelle, Jamie Lanay Anderson, and Joshua Anthony DeSelle—bask in the warmth of his memory. And 15 great-grandchildren, like twinkling stars, remind us that love transcends generations.
Aaron’s journey was marked by both joy and sorrow. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frankie DeSelle, and his children, Wayne DeSelle and Rita Moore. Tennis DeSelle and Celestine Ponthier of Bunkie, Louisiana, his parents, welcomed him into this world, and now they embrace him once more in eternity.
May Aaron’s memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him. Let the harmonica play on, and may the echoes of his laughter linger in our hearts forever.
