I wish to add my personal condolences to those expressed by all who called Jimmy Ransom a 'true friend;' and add my prayers to those of his family and friends who loved him ' may Jimmy Ransom rest in the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ. My friendship with Jimmy goes back to when we first met (1954) at Thomas J. Rusk, middle school in Dallas, Texas; and endured through our high school days. Jimmy dropped out of high school in his senior year to enter the Army while I left Dallas after my graduation to continue my education. After completing my university education and being commissioned in the Army I chose the profession of arms and except for an occasional brief visit, never again returned to Dallas. Thus, it's no surprise that I lost touch with Jimmy and my 'childhood/teen-years' friends, until recently. I will forever be grateful that I had the opportunity to visit with Jimmy and, even though he was in the last days of his life, recall and remember with him some of our good times ' walking to Lake Bachman after school to go fishing, going ice skating on weekends, volunteering to help in our neighborhood after the 1957 Dallas tornado, and many other experiences we shared in our youth.
