Linda Rosalee Hattaway, 71, of Channelview, Texas passed away on May 22, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 22, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents were Lane and Glynne Langford who moved to Texas when she was a baby. She met the love of her life and was soon married to J.T. Hattaway on March 27, 1970 in Houston, Texas. It was love at first sight for these two soulmates. They both were very blessed to have found and loved one another and enjoyed spending all their time together. When her children were in school, she was always there to volunteer, be room mother, attend field trips and anything else they needed. As her children were graduating, she opened Linda's Daycare where she cared for and loved countless children for nearly 30 years. She couldn’t go in public without someone recognizing her. She enjoyed cooking for her family and hosting all holiday gatherings. Everyone knew to bring bowls to take some home as she always cooked plenty. Her love for flowers knew no limits. She loved to browse nurseries and buy new plants. She was very thoughtful and always shared cuttings and her purchases. She was a member of South Drive Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir. Over the many years of devotion, she taught Sunday school and worked in the nurseries. She just couldn’t get away from loving on the babies. The church members also looked forward to her delicious cooking at fellowship functions. She is survived by her devoted husband J.T., daughter Crystal Hattaway Grassau and husband Chuck of Mont Belvieu, Texas, sons Dink Hattaway and fiancée Pam Jones of Katy, Texas, Chuck Hattaway and wife Summer of Crosby, Texas and Chris Roller and wife Danielle of Ormond Beach, Florida; sisters Choochoo Marlow and husband Marshall of Anderson, Alabama, Mell Roller of Channelview, Texas, Dene Milton and husband Vic of San Leon, Texas, Lana Beach and husband Brian of Channelview, Texas and Dallas Langford of Channelview. She had numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as, countless others who claimed her as their MawMaw. She is proceeded in death by her parents. Everyone who knew her, loved her and she will be forever missed.
