April 5, 1961 - July 18, 2019
In His own way, His own time and for His own purpose, GOD has reached down into our midst and touched the spirit of dearly loved Lillie Renee McCoy, and brought her home to be with Him. Renee was born on April 5, 1961 in Cedar Bayou, Texas to John and Hattie McCoy. Although not born to her, Shooney, (Freddie Miles) was as special to her as a mother could be. Renee confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully even as her health failed. A lover of people, she was always eager to help others. She served as a member of the Mt. Olive Mission Society and the Usher Board. As the Ministry Leader for Running At Will (RAW), Renee loved, listened and enlightened the young adults who willingly participated in RAW. Renee graduated from Ross Sterling High School in 1979 and continued on to Lee College receiving two Associate Degrees. At Rice University, she worked as a Printing Specialist and as Office Manager at Office Depot. She gained her greatest satisfaction from impacting lives as a Licensed Dependency Counselor at The Right Step and Harris County Mental Health and Mental Rehabilitation. She served as Program Director and Quality Assurance at Unlimited Vision After Care and finally as owner of her own company, Challenges (Offender Education). In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, dancing and spending time with her family. Renee was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hattie McCoy, bothers Jackie McCoy, Grady McCoy and Ronald Wayne McCoy. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memories; two daughters, Kizzy McGaskey (Brian), Precious McCoy; a son, Stephon McCoy; and her other son, Mike McGaskey; Grandson, Tae’lan McGaskey (Shericka); and Great-Grandchildren, Kimora McGaskey, Bre’Ann Kelley and Brian Kelley, Jr. Also to cherish her memories, her other mother, Freddie Miles; sisters, Jacqueline Rollins (Ernie), Anita Jones (Gregory, Sr.); brothers, Henry McCoy, John McCoy, and Ken Henry; Brother-in-Law, Tony Simpson; God sister, MarJohn Jiles; special friend, Norman Smith; her Angel, Theresa Jackson; special people in her life, Cheryl Sanders, Starley Jones, Shelia Yancy, Mike Sellman (Stormie, Ryleigh and Thomas) and Susan Dagley (Harper); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her Mt. Olive Church family.
