May you forever rest in Peace my brother. Officer Frank Kline
(Retired)
So sorry to hear the news. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Jimmy's family and friends. May good memories bring you comfort.
Jimmy and I were accepted to the CZ Police in 1964. Eventually we both were promoted to detective and worked narcotics. During that time we became very close. Jimmy became like a brother to me, and certainly a best friend. Not long ago Ilka and I visited Jimmy in Houston, and found him to be very sick and in a lot of pain. Even at that Jimmy and I reminised about old times and had a great visit. I don't want to remember that Jimmy I want to remember Jimmy the dedicated Officer, the guy who loved his job and the joker. I remember Jimmy solvng a problem of trespassing at the Lepor Colony by administering a few right front and left rears. We found the culprits cars hidden in the brush and Jimmy would let the air out of the right front tire and the left rear tire. A few of those, word traveled fast and the problem was solved, much faster than with Judge Deming's help. Also the stake out under the little bridge on Palo Seco Rd., the time he and Sgt. Thrift sent Joe Garcia and I looking for the ship Looflirpa (April Fool spelled backwards) loaded with cocaine, the time he ran out of the back door of the detective office and had about 5 detectives running all over the place to see what was going on only to fnd that Jimmy had ran around the building returned to his desk and was waiting for us to return while he laughed himself silly, but I got him good one night I coated the rubber eye piece on the night vision device with grease, I pretended to be looking at some activity in the bay and asked Jimmy to take a look, he did and walked around the rest of the shift with a big black ring around his eye.
I'll miss you Jimmy, but I know you're not in pain anymore and are in a better place. I couldn't have asked for a better FRIEND and PARTNER.

Tel: (954) 983-0719 (H) (305) 726-3780 (cell) August 8, 2007 TO THE RANSOM FAMILY: It is with great emotion and love that I write to all of you to express my deepest and heartfelt sympathy for the passing to be with God of my dearest partner, associate and dear friend Jimmy. Some of you may remember me. I was a Canal Zone Police Officer with Jimmy and we also served in the US Customs Service. Even though we somehow drifted apart when I was transferred to Florida, we kept in contact and always remembered the cases and events we experienced together serving our country. I have a lot of excellent memories of Jimmy and shall always remember him as one of my very good friends and associates. I shall always remember him as an excellent detective and Customs Patrol Officer, who gave it all and left his mark in law enforcement. My wife Dulce also joins me in prayer and in remembering and celebrating his great accomplishments in life. I shall try and visit with those that may be available when I visit Pearland, Texas. I know he is now resting peacefully in Heaven where our Lord took him to a very special place. We send our love and prayers to each one of you and a very special one for Jimmy, may he rest in peace. Dulce and Ossie
