Freda Carlene (Turner) Sells was born on September 14, 1935 in Frederick, Tillman County, Oklahoma to Ober and Zenobia (Wallace) Turner. She passed away October 22, 2019 in Houston, Texas at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 8 days. Freda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Winston Sells and by great grandchildren Krista Sells and Walker Hamilton, sister Ernestine Jordan, and brother Dale Turner. Freda is survived by her 6 children; Larrie Sells and wife Martha of Deer Park, Texas, Carlene Lee and husband Robert of Sheldon, Texas, Deborah Ward and husband Jim of Seabrook, Texas, Greta Dean and husband John of Deer Park, Texas, Sherry Robinson and husband Henry of Greencastle, Indiana, and Sandra Muldrow and husband Kevin of Cove, Texas; her 14 grandchildren; James Sells and wife Andrea, Terry Sells and wife Kimberley, Jaclyn Glasscock and husband Bradley, Stephanie Gilliam and husband Jamie, Jim Ward and wife Noelle, Jackie Owens and husband Paul, Shayla Richter and husband Taylor, Wesley Dean, Tricia Hamilton and husband Tom, Casey Robinson and wife Katie, Blake Robinson and wife Alicia, Sarah Hudson and husband Patrick, Bryan Muldrow and wife Jacquie, Brittany Ramsey and husband Russell; her 30 great grandchildren; Nicki McDaniel and husband Logan, Lorissa and Andrew Sells, Zachary and Reagan Sells, Abigail and Lucas Glasscock, Tyler Gilliam, Jordyn, Courtney and Haley Ward, Alexa, Blair and Bryer Owens, Juliet and Madeline Richter, Wyatt, Wade and Warren Hamilton, Lucy Robinson, Riggins and Paisley Robinson, Meredith, Ellie and Luke Hudson, Bennett and Sutton Muldrow, Easton and Denton Ramsey and 1 great great grandchild; Lily McDaniel, sisters Hope Owens, Treva Dyer and Georgia Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews. When Freda was 12 years old she received Jesus as Saviour and was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Channelview. Freda first met Winston in the sixth grade and began dating in the ninth grade. Freda soon moved to Farmington, Arkansas and graduated from Farmington High School. She then attended the University of Arkansas. Freda then returned to Channelview and within a few days was engaged to Winston. They were married on September 2, 1954 at the First Baptist Church in Channelview. Freda and Winston ran several businesses throughout their marriage, including Chicken’s Drive In and Almost Antiques. Freda worked in the office and substituted at CISD. She also taught kindergarten at Channelview Christian School. Freda enjoyed her iPad, computer and social media. She learned them quick and used them frequently. She attended Faithbridge Church in Deer Park. Above ALL else, Freda LOVED spending time with her family. She spent a lot of time at grandkids and great grandkids baseball, softball, band concerts, choir concerts, dance contest, wrestling, basketball, volleyball, soccer, football, piano recitals, violin recitals, and gymnastic events. Many summers were spent on the beach in Galveston for a weeklong/all family gathering. She seldom missed watching an Astros game and knew the names and stats of the players. Freda was loyal and dedicated to her husband, Winston, until her death. Pallbearers will be her son and sons-in-law.
