Walter Wells
Mr Woody was a great man. I knew him as a project manager at BTFE and BOP Exxon in Baytown starting in 1975 as a new graduate and a first time professional employee to Brown and Root.
He was a natural born leader with a God given talent for organizing people to run major projects. He had a way about him that put the right people in the right places. He created a following that could only be done by gaining the respect from all that worked with him. All that worked for him would go anywhere and do anything that Woody was envoved with. The Clients loved Woody as well and if he was on the job the customer found comfort in knowing that the task would be done right.
The world was a better place with Woody in it. The world would be a better place if there were more like him. I fear that that's hose days may be gone. But, for those of us left behind that came under his influence, we need to remember his ways and pattern our existence accordingly.
Rest in peace Mr. Woody. Your work here is done. You ran the good race.
Thanks for being my friend.
